“Death Decoded – Documenting Death with or without a Death Certificate”

Presented by: Jane Neff Rollins

Identifying where and when an ancestor has died is an essential step for every genealogist. But sometimes the facts about death can be buried as deeply as the ancestor. Learn how to find a wide variety of documents that identify date and place of death (even if a death certificate can’t be found) and how to decode what the documents are really telling you.

About the speaker: Jane Neff Rollins is a full-time professional researcher at Sherlock Combs Genealogy. She specializes in Russian Empire research and translation and research in Chicago/Cook County and Southern California. She conducts research for authors, attorneys, professional genealogists, and family researchers, writes articles for genealogy publications and lectures frequently at local societies, and at regional, national and international conferences.
